Normally any electricity bill calculation will be based upon total number of consumed electricity units and their Tariffs or slabs (categories).
In Mumbai Maharashtra, based upon number of electricity units consumptions, Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited Tariff or slab rates are divided into two categories.
- LT-I(A): Below Poverty line
- LT-I(B): Residential

Understanding Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited electricity bill in Maharastra
The AEML electricity bill consists of following charges
- Fixed Charges
- Wheeling Charges
- Energy Charges
- FAC Charges
- Govt Electricity Duty Charges
- Maharastra Govt Tax
If you fall under LT-I(A): Below Poverty line the fixed charges are 10 Rupees.
And in the LT-I(B): Residential, fixed charges are based on number of units consumed in the electricity bill.
Wheeling charges are equal to (number of units * 1.47 rupees)
Energy charges are equal to (number of units * per unit charge according to slab rates)
FAC charges are calculated based on number of units and per unit fac charges.
Govt Electricity duty charges are 16% of consumer charges.
Maharastra Govt tax is equal to (number of units * 26.04 paisa).
We will take an example to understand it further.
Let’s say number of units consumed 269 units and the consumer fall under LT-I(B): Residential.
Fixed Charge.
Fixed charges varies based on number of units consumed.

In the above example number of units are 269, so the fixed charges are 120 rupees
Wheeling Charge
Wheeling Charges in Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited electricity bill are 1.47 rupees/unit.
For 269 units the wheeling charges are 269 * 1.47 = 395.43.
Energy Charge
According to slab rates as mentioned above for the first 100 units the energy charges 100 * 3.05 = 305.
And the remaining units 269-100 = 169. the energy charges are 169 * 5 = 845.
The total energy charges for 269 units are 1150 rupees.

FAC Charge
FAC is an acronym for Fuel Adjustment Charge.
When there is variation in the actual fuel cost/ power purchase cost when compared with the cost approved by the Electricity Regulator, the variation is recovered through FAC mechanism.

Government Electricity Duty Charge
Government Electricity Duty Charge in Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited electricity bill is 16% of consumer charges.
Where Consumer Charges are sum of Fixed Charges, Energy Charges, Wheeling Charges and FAC Charges.
